1Door to Door
The Maruhachi Group's first venture was in Door
to Door sales and this has still remained the main
sales technique. This sales system was set up with
its own dispatch section however, the distribution
mechanism was found to be too complex and plans
for simplification are being promoted. Door to Door
sales allow us to provide the customer with good
quality products at competitive prices and furthermore,
the fact that orders can be quickly expedited from
our factory to the customer's home without going
through any middle men is another merit. A large
network throughout the country has been set up and
currently there are 170 sales branches employing
2,000 sales assistants. |

4Retail Outlet Sales
We only handle futons of exclusively the best
quality and this quality can be appreciated by many
people throughout Japan simply by visiting our direct
sales retail outlets where our line in futons is
on display. While one reason for having these outlets
is so that we can keep up a good level of contact
with the local population, however the main purpose
is so that the retail store sales becomes a place
that serves as a local communication base where
people feel that they can drop in anytime and tell
us what their views are on our products. Not only
do we ensure that our products are abundantly displayed,
but our staffs make themselves available to give
advice to people on how best to enjoy their sleep
time and even on how to interior decorate their
bedrooms. These staffs are trained specialists and
welcome all customers and their enquiry. |

5Catalogue Sales
As it is through our products that we are trying
to make our mark in people's lives so accordingly,
we started our catalogue sales business in 1994
and have been operating since. Our selling points
are our good reputation in eyes of the general public
as a bedding manufacturer and the know-how that
we have accumulated over many years in the business.
Not unjustifiably, we are proud of our extensive
array of products that constitute the catalogue
product line-up. In addition to our products, catalogues
also carry numerous other products whose brand names
