at the Fukuoka Plant. The innovative computer, Univac 90-300 was

Completion of construction of the head office buildings.
Construction works completed and operations for down comforter and
wool pads manufacture commenced at on the main office plant. Maruhachi
Unyu Co. Ltd. receive are licensed to trade as a motor vehicle transport
company. |

The director Kazuhachi Okamoto was elected president
and Hahiji Okamoto was elected chairman. 10 of the leading outlet
branches in Japan became independent as the new sales company system
was launched. The Maruhachi Health Insurance Union was inaugurated.
The head office plant was enlarged and the construction of the Lake
Hamana Training Center was finished. The computer, Univac 1100-61
was introduced and the Z system was launched. |

Construction of the indoor pool at the Lake Hamana
Training Center was finished. The San Francisco retail outlet, Concord
was opened, and the company HACCI Hong Kong was established. The
Paris liaison office was opened. TV commercial for "Furton" promoted
with an actor, Toshiro Mifune. A total of 13 retail sales companies

The San Jose retail outlet, San Francisco was opened.
The computer, Univac 1100-62 was introduced. TV commercial promoted
with Comedian, Katsura Sanshi. A total of 16 sales companies open. |

Eight retail outlets opened in the San Francisco Bay
area opened. A total of 17 retail sales companies open. Credit Division
opened and the Clinic factory was put into operation. |

The company, Hatchi Finance opened for business. |

Leasing Division and Travel Agency Division opened.
Construction was finished on Maruhachi Aoyama Building in Aoyama,
Tokyo. |

The four companies, Maruhachi Futon Co. Ltd., World
Eight Co. Ltd., Maruhachi Unyu Co. Ltd. and Maruhachi Kenso Co.
Ltd. were taken over under joint management by Hacci Co. Ltd. |

Maruhachi Mawata Co. Ltd. took over Hacci Co. Ltd. |
| 1989 |
Kazuo Takeda was elected president, Kazuhachi Okamoto
was elected Chairman and Hachiji Okamoto was elected Company Representative.
The New Zealand firm, G.L.Bowron was taken over and Hacci Sydney
Corp. Pty. Ltd bought 1,785ha of grazing land in Australia. |

Construction of the Bangkok plant in Thailand was completed. |

The Bangkok plant was put into operation. TV commercial
promoted with a singer, Hiromi Go. |

The Yokohama head office was constructed in Shin Yokohama.
Sheridan Japan Co. Ltd. entered the Maruhachi Group. |

TV commercial promoted with an actress, Yuko Asano.
Sales from catalogue selling was transferred from Sensho Co. Ltd.
Catalogue Sales officially commenced. |

Completion of the Tokyo head office in Nishi Shinjuku,
Shinjuku. |

Asaba recycle plant put into operation and the bed
manufacturing plant in Ryuyo Cho was opened. |

The computer system was changed over to a client saver
system and put into operation. The training facilities, BentenKan,
was constructed for using senior manager's training. Sales of Original
Beds was commenced. Kenichi Inagaki was elected president, Kazuo
Takeda was elected chairman, Kazuhachi Okamoto was elected company
representative and Hachiji Okamoto was elected adviser. |
